Remembering the Milestones

I am not a baby book type of person - I guess in many ways this is my baby book. So this post is for me more than anyone else. Not even a pic this time. When I get more time I will blog about all the "fun" stuff we have been up to, but for now I just want a place to put these milestones.

Georgia is starting to talk and sign. She says, "uh oh, ma ma, da da, and hi." She will sign and attempt to say, "all done" and "more." Its cool to watch her engage with the family! She is almost completely off baby food. She will eat whatever I make as long as its cut up. Her favorites are fettuccine, string cheese, pancakes, and baked beans. My slow mover (not quite as slow as her big sister) is army crawling, standing alone, and cruising furniture. If she is anything like Lilah I have a good 6 months before walking starts.

As for Lilah. We got some bittersweet news last week - she desperately needs glasses! I have been worried about her eyes for some time. I asked her Pediatrician for a vision referral at her 2 year check up. 8 months later I continued to notice a developing lazy eye and finally scheduled her appointment. Turns out she has a moderate to severe lazy eye which requires a very strong prescription, constant wearing of glasses, and check ups every 2 months with the eye surgeon. Ugh! A little bit of guilt and a sadness for my baby girl. So we are waiting on glasses which should be in by Friday. We will see how this goes. Trying to keep glasses on a 2 year old......hmmmmm.

Did I really just do that????

Do you remember my post a while back about my love for auctions?? Well, I took it to the extreme last night and bid and WON on the highest value live auction item. The best part (or the worst depending how you see it) I did it all while Mike was in the restroom! You should have seen his face when he returned to the table.......priceless! He was so red I thought he was going to explode. I honestly did not think I would win in a million years. I was the lowest bidder - I was the only bidder!! I did redeem myself slightly by winning the 50/50 raffle for the second year in a row!! So that will go directly to my big purchase.

So what exactly did we pick up - 8 days, 7 nights in a 3 bedroom home in Cabo. I know it will be fun, but I am still in disbelief. This is sooo not my style. The guilt is killing me! You are welcome Whatcom County Habitat for Humanity.

Last year this little angel kept me from one of my FAVORITE summer treats. This summer - Game on!
This year we left the good ole US and headed up to Canada for the 4th. I almost didn't make it because of this ridiculous summer cold, but pulled myself together and am really happy I did. We met Mike's family up in Sicomous BC "The house boat capital of Canada" for boating, BBQ, fishing, and family time. It is definitely something I would love to do again once the kids are a bit older. Lilah had a fabulous time running a muck. Georgia decided to become mobile while on the boat - go figure!

However, there is one thing Mike and I agree on as we go on more family outings......its easier to travel with others who have young kids as well. If you have young kiddos you just get it. As a parent you don't feel guilty when your lovely children decide to wake up at 5:30 a.m every morning, have a tantrum every few hours for not getting their way or whatever other behavior you secretly wish you could stop your kids from doing in the presence of others so they appear like little angles. Does anyone else ever feel this way or is it just me??
